Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has insisted that his form has not fallen for the past 10 years and that he uses trophies and personal achievements to motivate himself and keep his fans happy.
Ronaldo was at the centre of a controversy last weekend after claiming his team would be in first if his teammates were 'on his level'. He later retracted his statements and insisted he was only referring to his teammates keeping fit.
"Talent means nothing without hard work. I want to keep up my momentum," he said at the launch of his new cologne.
"I think my level is the same in the last 10 years. I just want to keep doing the same with Real Madrid, winning trophies for the team as well as individual prizes so that my fans can be happy with Cristiano. That's my motivation.
"We had a really good performance in Roma with two goals but now [there] is going to be another game at home. We have a good advantage but you can not trust, we have to win playing well to get the next Champions League round. That's what we want."
Ronaldo has been constantly linked with a move abroad with Manchester United, his former club, and French giants Paris Saint-Germain touted destinations. However, the Portuguese star says he isn't thinking of leaving Real Madrid any time soon.
Real Madrid take on Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu tonight and will look to apply the squeeze on title rivals Atletico Madrid and Barcelona who seem to be running away from the Los Blancos.
Shortly following their Liga game against Celta, they host Italian giants, AS Roma, at the Bernabeu. They already hold a 2-0 lead and will look to make it into the quarter-finals of the Champions League and add to their existing mammoth collection of trophies.
