Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the 200,000,000 mark for social media followers, dwarfing his rivals.
The Portuguese superstar attained the magical number through his combined Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
He's the first sportsperson to reach that figure and the power of his reach is borne out in a report released byHookIt - a company dedicated to monitoring accounts for sports stars and organisations.
Putting his status into perspective, Ronaldo apparently has more followers than all the teams and players currently competing in Major league Soccer in the United States combining And proving that football is the global game, he has three times more followers than the entirety of Major League Baseball in the US.
Ronaldo, unashamedly vain and a dedicated follower of fashion, averages around 137,000 new followers across social media each day. The bulk come via his Facebook page which is close to 107million likes.
Ronaldo's great rival Lionel Messi, who isn't on Twitter, has less than two-thirds of his followers.
Ronaldo has 40.7m Twitter followers – other leading footballing tweeters are Neymar (21.2m followers), Wayne Rooney (12.6m) and Luis Suarez (6m).
Ronaldo has more than double the number of Twitter followers than his Real Madrid club (18.3m).
Stateside, it's the basketballers with the big numbers on Twitter - Lebron James (28.2million), Kobe Bryant (8.7million) and Michael Jordan (2.6million)
